Counselling that’s real, human, and focused on you
We all reach moments where life feels heavy, confusing, or just too much. Talking it through with someone who really listens can make a difference.

I’m Claire Booth
I'm a qualified and BACP-accredited counsellor with over 12 years of experience supporting adults through life’s challenges, both in-person in Manchester and online.
My role isn’t to ‘fix’ you. It’s to offer space for you to understand yourself better, explore what’s going on, and find ways to create change.
Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, loss, relationship struggles, or just feeling stuck, counselling can help you make sense of things and move towards a life that feels more manageable, and more like yours.
My Counselling Approach
I work as a person-centred counsellor, which means our sessions are led by you: your story, your pace, and what feels most important right now.
There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, so I adapt how I work to suit your needs, drawing on different therapeutic methods where it helps.
My focus is always on creating a safe, genuine relationship where you can talk freely without fear of judgment.
Together, we’ll explore what’s happening in your life, what’s been difficult, and what you’d like to change.
I believe that counselling is about understanding yourself more deeply, finding clarity, and building the confidence to make choices that feel right for you.
Our conversations might sometimes feel challenging, but they’re always supportive and you’ll be met with empathy, honesty, and respect.
Whether you choose short-term work to get through a specific situation or longer-term therapy to explore deeper patterns, I’ll walk alongside you every step of the way.
Who I Work With
I offer counselling for individual adults (18+), as well as working with companies and Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs) who provide counselling to their employees.
I support people with a wide range of experiences and concerns, including:
-
Anxiety and panic
-
Depression and low mood
-
Bereavement, grief, and loss
-
Miscarriage and infertility
-
Relationship and family difficulties
-
Work-related stress and burnout
-
Emotional or sexual abuse
-
Gender incongruence and sexuality
-
Low self-esteem and confidence
-
Overwhelm or feeling “stuck”
-
Life transitions and identity changes
I have significant experience working with LGBTQ+ clients, offering a safe and affirmative space for you to be fully yourself.
If something you’re going through isn’t listed here, you’re still welcome to get in touch. Sometimes it’s hard to put things into words, and we can talk it through together.

Ready to take the next step?
Starting therapy can feel like a big decision, but it doesn’t have to be complicated.
Here’s how to begin:
1
First let's chat
We will start with a 15 minute video call where you can ask questions, share a little about what is going on and get a sense of how it feels to talk together. It is also a chance to explore what has brought you to counselling and what you are hoping for. Click here to book.
2
Get to know each other
If it feels like a good fit, we’ll agree on a regular time for your sessions — either online or in person. I’ll also share my client agreement so you know exactly what to expect, and I’ll answer any questions you might have.
3
Begin your therapy journey
Once everything’s in place, we’ll start working together in a way that feels comfortable and right for you. Whether you want short-term support or longer-term change, I’ll be here to walk alongside you throughout the process.

My values
I believe therapy should be inclusive, accessible, and affirming.
I’m committed to providing a safe, respectful space for people of all backgrounds, identities, and abilities, including LGBTQIA+ clients, neurodivergent individuals, and those living with disability or chronic illness.
